July 12: Shakespeare Festival Henry VII. Come picnic in the park before the show. Contact KeithSchwols. Attending so far, Keith, Ann, Chris, Heather, Bob, Sue, George
Henry the Eighth concludes Shakespeare’s sweeping history of the English monarchy. Abundant in both court pageantry and poetry, this last of the Bard's masterworks will surprise today's audiences with its bold characterizations and sinister intrigue. Henry the Eighth presents up-close the cruel dismantling of Henry's marriage to the loving, courageous Katherine of Aragon in favor of the young Anne “Bullen” (Boleyn). This infamous act, motivated by politics as well as desire, is engineered by one of Shakespeare's most relentless villains—the Machiavellian Cardinal Wolsey. Less often produced than his other history plays, Shakespeare’s Henry the Eighth offers playgoers a rare opportunity to take a danger-laden voyage through the treacherous shoals of Tudor England to the glittering shore of the Elizabethan age

July 3rd - Ann Birthday Party. My plans for a surprise birthday party at the Okole-Maluna Hawaiian Grill fell through as the owners decided to close the business over the holiday weekend. So, we're going to have a backyard party at my place. Cocktails at 4:30pm. If it's not too hot, I'll get the Badminton net set up, since nothing is a better birthday treat then watch drunk people try hit birdies. ;-). No gifts requested, but cards are acceptable.
July 8th - Colorado Irish Festival
From Ingrid and Eric
- We're going to the Colorado Irish Festival at Clement Park (southwest end of the Denver metro sprawl) on Saturday, July 8. Anyone want to join us? Their website is www.coloradoirishfestival.org - for a schedule of music stages/events/sports competitions.
- We really like the closing band, The Elders (fun bouncy cross-over Celtic rock) and definitely want to see the 3 pm hurling match.
Tickets are $10 if you get them off the website, otherwise $12 at the gate. We're thinking to get there early afternoon. RSVP if you're interested, and we can organize a time and place to meet. ingridvbporter@yahoo.com

July 30th - Unexpected Shaxpeare!, 2pm. Planing on a fun dinner after the show (Rhumba's?, Matan Fez? suggestions).
