Pineapple Poker Rules

A popular game for both tournaments and cash games, Pineapple is a variation on Texas Hold'em, and follows the same basic structure (refer to PokerPage/HoldemRules for more details). The principal difference is that each player is dealt 3 hole cards. In standard Pineapple, the first round of betting takes place, and then each player must discard one card before the flop is dealt. The rest of the hand is played out like Texas Hold'em.

In the "Crazy" Pineapple variation, players are again dealt three hole cards, but do not discard until after the flop is dealt.

This game has also inspired new variations in some of the Friday night games, including "Insane" Pineapple (if someone remembers the rules, please post them!) and most recently Pomegranate (4 hole cards are dealt, one discarded after the flop and another after the turn).
